Ideal Project P38 Range Rover!
The Range Rover is an iconic model range that really needs no introduction, and how better to get into ownership than with this fantastic metallic Blue P38 with the similarly iconic 4.0 Rover V8 engine. The bodywork is striking, but the pictures do flatter it, as there are patches of fade and a couple of small areas of peel to the exterior. There are some patches of rust, but no holes and the chassis is in surprisingly good condition for one of these P38s. This is a car that could either be given some good TLC, or driven in this almost 'patina' condition.
On the inside, the interior isn't in fantastic shape but is very usable. Unsurprisingly for a P38, there are a couple of non-functional items, such as the sunroof and the air conditioning, but the windows all operate satisfactorily and the radio works too. The headlining has been removed, but among other things, the spares package does include a brand new replacement head liner.
In terms of the mechanical side of things, the engine starts keenly every time and makes all the sounds an old V8 should. It drives, starts and stops as it should, and holds temperature well. The engine was replaced with a low mileage item at around 135k, and the way the engine runs reinforces this. There is an LPG system fitted but this is currently non-functional due to a signal fault. The air suspension which can bring about many reliability woes has also been removed in favour of conventional gas shocks and springs. The ZF4HP automatic gearbox goes into all gears well and changes smoothly.
One key, V5 present and fully HPI clear. Viewings by appointment only at CB23 2SU, Cambridgeshire. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have!
