Evolution - But Not The Car

May I just start this post by apologising for how long it has been since I last posted - honestly, on a personal level, it seems like it's been bloody ages. It's been a reasonably weird few weeks, as I've found myself getting to a point where I'm not entirely happy anymore, and as a result I've made the worryingly bold decision to leave my job.

Now, having spent over three years in the motor trade straight after coming out of full time education, I find myself both wondering what the hell to do with myself in the coming weeks, months and years, and being remarkably less stressed. Now when the going is good, being in car sales is fantastic. There are very few other jobs where, without needing an expensive education, you can find yourself earning significant sums when you put the work in - sadly though, of late I've not found myself doing so well, so with a few other contributing factors it seemed the right time to take some time away from it and focus on myself for a small time.

That brings me on to what is going to happen as a result, and what you can expect to see here. First and foremost, I'll be focusing more of my time here rather than trying to run it alongside a day job that requires a large amount of dedication and concentration, so I'd like to think that there will be better post quantity, as well as improved post quality. There's no real secret to the fact that I see this blog as both a creative outlet, and a possible springboard into the world of automotive writing, which is something I'd love to be able to make a career out of, unlikely as it may be. Secondly though, the keener-eyed viewers here may have noticed that the site menus have changed to show a new page on the site - a vehicle stock list.

For a good while I've wanted to sell cars off my own back. There, again, is no real secret that I've enjoyed owning a large amount of cars over the last couple of years that I often tend to move on rather quickly, even if I don't necessarily intend to at the start. While the high-volume side of the motor trade may not be appealing to me at this time, I most certainly still involve buying and selling - there are few better feelings than securing a bargain or selling something on for a profit, and my drive for that will be my drive to succeed in selling cars in a more business-like way - i.e. for profit. So, over the next few weeks, I'll most likely be throwing myself into vehicle purchases to try and build up some level of stock to get listed up on the site and hopefully start selling - it's a dream of mine to have a successful business and, while that alone isn't reason for me to be able to make a profitable business work, I feel like having done it on a smaller scale in the past, it doesn't seem impossible.

So that's that - a small progress update, really. Expect to see more on the posting side and expect to start seeing cars listed up soon - and if you spot anything you think your friends or family might be interested in, please don't hesitate to share directly to them or on Facebook and the like - the support will, absolutely always, be appreciated.
